Homicide detectives investigate as couple are found dead with serious injuries at a vulnerable women‘s hostel in Birmingham

Homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman who were found dead at a house in .

The couple were discovered inside the property in the Moseley area of the city at around 5.30pm yesterday evening.

Neighbours said the building is a vulnerable women‘s refuge.

West Midlands Police said officers were called to the address on Oxford Road, where they found the man and woman, who both had serious injuries.

Officers say the pair are known to each other and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The block of flats on Oxford Road is run by Trident Reach, a charity offering a domestic abuse support service in Birmingham.

Neighbour Abba Khan Amedi, 73, a retired auditor, said: ‘It‘s a hostel for women.‘

Raymond Price, 61, driver, said: ‘It‘s a hostel as far as I know. It‘s owned by Trident.‘

Diana West, 77, retired nurse, said: ‘I think it‘s a hostel for vulnerable women. It‘s very quiet normally.‘

In a statement, police added: ‘Homicide detectives are currently trying to establish how they came about their injuries, but at this stage they do not suspect anyone else to be involved and the couple were known to each other.

‘A cordon has been put in place at the property for forensic examinations and officers are speaking to neighbours.‘
